Pardon the absence.
In the past month and a half, we have shuffled our kids, car seats, toys, clothes, books, vehicle, dog and other bits and pieces from Virginia to Kentucky to California and it has left me numb. Like Pavlov’s dog I arise every morning to the cry of a baby and start the day all over again: juice, coffee, eggs, toys, nap, Mickey Mouse, run, playground, lunch, nap, shower, run an errand, visit hubby at work, dinner, play, put the kids to bed.
By the time my boys are in bed, I crash on the couch with stains on my shirt, scratches from tiny nails on my chest, baby fistfuls of hair pulled out from my ponytail and consume a handful of mint ores while scrolling through the pages of realtor.com looking at houses that we are definitely not going to buy.
Sounds super productive, right? And like a good excuse for not blogging, right? Yeah, I thought so too.
But just in case you were wondering, that’s what I’ve been up to. Well, that and a whole bunch of other things, including running and reading my Bible, making slow progress toward my goals. In case you were wondering about that too.
I’m hopeful I may be able to recover some of the brain cells I’ve undoubtedly lost in transition and have something insightful or witty to say in the near future.
In the mean time, I’m alive and well in California. Eating Oreos. (Thankfully, not for breakfast.)
The Lord is with you, that am sure of. keep holding the flame
Orea’s for breakfast…not a bad idea.
Sounds like you have had a lot going on…two moves in a short amount of time.
Keep positive, things will even out soon enough! Good Luck
Oh, you have what my mom would call “a whole lotta life” going on. Hope things calm down for you guys soon!
After all that, you deserve every last one of those Oreos! (by the way, have you tried the peanut butter chocolate dipped ones yet? Divine!)
Are you training or gearing up for a 5k or marathon? I am back into running lately (going very slow) and hopefully will do a 5K in July.
Yes I am gearing up for a 10k, though I haven’t run much more than 2 miles at a time yet. I haven’t been able to sign up for any races as we’ve been moving…but hopefully we’ll be in CA for a while, so I am planning on signing up for a 10k they have on the 4th of july! I hope it’s not too hot!!! 🙂 Good luck with your 5k. It feels good to be running!
Mint Creme Oreos are amazing!!!!! And you deserve to eat a few 🙂 Glad you’re surviving in CA and that you’re working towards your 2011 goals. Good for you!! Miss you!
I love you guys!! I love hearing I deserve to eat oreos. They are sooooo yummy. I haven’t tried the peanut butter dipped ones…mmmmm…sounds dangerous. But I like living on the edge 🙂
Hmm… I don’t think we can recover lost brain cells that fall out post-childbirth! When I was pregnant, we called it “pregnancy brain.” Then a friend clued me in that it never goes away! The absentmindedness, the thinking of twelve things at once, and the way a tiny life takes over your world.
I say, hooray for the Oreos!
