Enough of the early rising

Glory glory Halleluia! The sun arose before my kids today. It’s a miracle.

With the lack of daylight savings and the early bird tendencies of my children, the last few months have left us shuffling around in our pjs in the wee hours of the morning. And the not so wee hours. I mean, the sun wasn’t visible until at least 7:15 some mornings. Am I correct? It’s not just here in California, right? That is super late. Many many morning we were up for at least an hour and a half before ever seeing a gleaming ray of sunshine.

Then came daylight savings and 5:45 a.m. became the ungodly hour of 4:45, which offered no more light. But soon 4:45 became 5:15, became 5:30, became the great and glorious hour of 6:30 a.m.

My eyes twitched. A soft light was peering through our curtains. I heard the intermittent cries of my son over the monitor. My eyes twitched again. Then they opened. I looked over at the clock: it said 6:30 a.m. Glory glory Halleluia. Never in my life did I think I would be so happy to see 6:30 a.m.

Say what you will about daylight savings, but getting up with the sun sure beats getting up with the stars. I for one am happy to be greeted by the sun once again 🙂

awww, thanks Ellen! You are so sweet. I was just saying to Darrell today that I have gotten so sloppy with my posts lately, as I am trying to do one every day. I write them hastily! And I haven’t gotten many responses so I am afraid I’m alienating my readers!! haha…not quite, but anyway, thanks for the encouragement! Glad you are enjoying them 🙂 We definitely have to catch up soon. Miss you girlfriend!!
