You thought I was kidding about this posting every day thing, didn’t you? Welp, the thankfulness is still going strong!
And today I am thankful for Wal-Mart. Yup, Wal-Mart. We went there this morning for our weekly grocery shopping trip.
Where else can you get a cart full of groceries for $80? That’s cheap, cheap, cheap, I tell ya. I bought socks, a toilet brush, makeup, lotion, various other cleaners, and a some groceries all for less than a hair cut and high light. Not too shabby.
While there are certainly things about Wal-Mart that are not fantastic, their prices are certainly not one of them.
Oh, and because I couldn’t resist…here’s Jacob shopping for toys in Wallyworld. And no, we didn’t buy him any. We are so mean.
I always struggle with Wal-Mart. On one hand I am a sucker for a good deal. On the other, crowds of people dressed in camo and spitting tobacco make me nervous!
Hahaha. Yes, Wal-Mart has its fair share of weirdoes. No joke, I one time saw a lady walking around NURSING her child. This cannot be good, for the baby or for anybody else within 100 feet of her. So wrong in so many ways. But, I’m sure I bought some good deals that day! ha!
Whenever we go shopping with the boys, Stephen’s strategy is to go to the toy section and get a few toys for the boys to play with while we get the rest of our shopping done. At the end of our trip, we tell the boys that we aren’t purchasing any of the great things they’ve been playing with. But they are actually O.K. with it. They’ve gotten used to the idea of only playing with the toy in the store and realize that they can play with those same toys when we come back to Wallyworld next week! =)
Haha…that is exactly what we do! That is what was happening in the picture. Darrell took them to the toy section while I shopped. He texted me that picture while I was grocery shopping 🙂 We don’t always go to the store all together, but when we do Darrell definitely takes them to the toy section while I shop and we don’t buy them the toys. They are getting used to the idea of just playing while we’re there. 🙂 Good luck shopping next week!
